Well, this is just an introduction to see if I actually will use this blog to write short articles or thoughts about the many aspects of Greek Folklore.
Most recently, I have been involved in several Greek Folk Dance competitions, acting as dance and costume judge.
The first was HDF 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. Put on by the Metropolitan of Atlanta, it is a very warm and welcoming event. I had a great time at this successful event and congratulate everyone involved in making it happen.
The following weekend was Parathosi 2019 in Queens, NY. This fledgling event, sponsored by the Direct Archdiocesan District, is starting to take off! We know it takes several years for an event like this to come into its maturity. With the input and help from several new people - and others yet to join - I feel this event is on the verge of taking the next step!
Next up this weekend is the grandaddy of them all - FDF 2019, put on by the Metropolitan of San Francisco, this year in Ontario, CA. I look forward to being with some great people, watching good dancing, and taking part in many amazing music and dance events spontaneously sprouting up all over the conference center!
